people in their times of great need.
Being a doctor allows me to see
how intricate our bodies are and
how it can only reflect God as our
Creator. It is amazing to see how
our bodies work.

blog below!
Hi, my name is Matthew Rubenstein and I come from a very large family. I am the
youngest of nine children in my family. I have six older brothers and two older
sisters. We all live in different parts of the country now but we are still very close.

I moved to Springfield, Missouri a couple of years ago for my residency at the
hospital. It is the final step for me to become a doctor. I truly enjoy helping other
My dad is an amazing doctor and is the Chief of Staff at a major hospital in New York City. He is my
inspiration and a great man of God. He, my mom, and two oldest brothers moved to the United
States from Israel in 1968. My parents were Jews and followed Jewish laws until my dad met a
patient that was a Spirit-filled Christian. God used that man to show my dad that Jesus really was
the Messiah, the one sent to save the world from sin. My dad then began to teach my mom and
brothers and eventually all of us about Jesus. It is really cool that we get to know the Jewish
customs and Jesus too. We are now Messianic Jews, which means we are Jews that believe that
Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
I miss New York sometimes but
living just outside of Springfield
seems to suit me better. I live
right on a lake where I like to
spend time fishing and riding my
four-wheeler. I also live pretty
close to the mountains so my
friends and I go hiking from time
to time. That is when I am off
and have the free time to do so. I
really enjoy having time to relax
and have friends over to
barbecue and play games
outside. It's a time when I like to
take in the beauty in God's
creation.
I enjoy learning and
researching new medical
techniques that can help me
do my job better. I also like to
read and study the bible as
much as possible because I
know that It is God who
guides me when I work on my
patients and I believe it is
Him who actually heals them.
It is all for His glory.

Something else I like to do is volunteer with my church's medical missions team. Being a doctor is
not about money to me. It is about helping people get better. When I work with our medical team, I
not only get to help people physically get better, but I also get to share Jesus with them. We often
go into the inner city or out in the country where people do not always get the medical care they
really need. As a team we welcome them and pray for them while they are waiting to receive
medical attention. We also take a mission trip every year. We have been to Mozambique and
Swaziland in Africa, to Honduras and Peru too. It is a major priority to me to make time to serve
others and help bring hope to the hurting. It is amazing to see what God can do when you simply
offer your heart and your talents to Him, and you work for His glory and not your own.
My friends and I enjoy being involved at
church. We host bible studies and have people
over from church to hang out. The fun part is
meeting new people and getting share hope
with them. We like to go on outreaches with
our church. Our favorite one is when we go to
the inner city and hand out food. We get our
whole lifegroup together and we help sort the
food and then we go from door to door in the
community and give the food to families in
need. We get to pray with them and get to
know them a little better every time we go. We
also invite them to our Sunday service at our
inner city extension of our church. It is
awesome to see the work that God is doing
and the lives that are being changed.
This is part of the true purpose of the church. We
are a family of believers that are meant to share
God's love with lost and hurting people. The bible
says that we should let our light shine before men
so they will see God in us. The Body of Christ is
not meant to stay within the four walls of a
building because the building is not the church.
The
people are the church.  The bible also says
that those who are in Christ are to be set apart,
that only means that we are different and have
higher standards. We are to be
in the world but
not
of the world. The more we read the bible and
live out the principles that God has written, the
more we are truly like the church God intended
for us to be.
And all the believers met together
constantly and shared everything
they had.

Acts 2:44
Although I like to have fun with my
friends and I enjoy relaxing, I do
work very hard. I do not take my
job lightly and I always work with
excellence. My work is very
important to me. I make sure that I
balance the stress that my work
can bring with time for fun and for
my friends and family.
In this new life, it doesn't matter if you are a Jew or a
Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric,
uncivilized, slave or free. Christ is all that matters, and
he lives in all of us.

Colossians 3:11
Forever, O LORD, Your word
stands firm in heaven. Your
faithfulness extends to every
generation, as enduring as the
earth you created. Your laws
remain true today, for everything
serves your plans.
Psalm 119:89-91
When we pray to God for other people
who are sick or in need of help, we have
to believe God will hear us. God does
answer prayer and God does heal the
sick.

There is a story in Luke 8:40-48 about a
woman who had been very sick for
twelve years. She spent every penny
she had on doctors and medical
treatments that would not work. She
then finds herself in a crowd fighting her
way to get to the one whom she believes
can heal her. When she finally reaches
Jesus, this is what takes place:

She came up behind Jesus and touched
the fringe of his robe. Immediately the
bleeding stopped. "Who touched me?"
Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and
Peter said,"Master, the whole crowd is
pressing up against you." But Jesus told
him,"No, someone deliberately touched
me, for I felt healing power go out from
me." (Luke 8:44-46 NLT)

It says that the woman deliberately, or
intentionally, touched Jesus. When we
pray intentionally and with faith, God will
reach out to us in our need. There is
power in the name of Jesus.
We had the awesome opportunity to meet many ambassadors from around the world. They
were very informative about what was going on in their countries and the needs of their
people. It was a reminder as to why it is important to serve in other countries. Missions is a
great chance to share God's hope and love through serving people and meeting needs in a
practical way. I am very proud of the church that I belong to because they help in as many
places as they can. They believe in serving others and I am so thankful that I get to serve
alongside such incredible people who desire to have God's heart for people.
This section is to explain what the
character's outfit symbolizes:
Healing's  Costume
The red color - Represents the blood of Christ that
was shed for us, to cover sin, so that we can have a
relationship with God the Father.

The simplicity of the costume - represents the
simplicity of the message of salvation

The symbol of medicine on the chest -  This is the
symbol that the medical world adopted.  It
represents the staff that Moses held up a rod with a
serpent on it, to cure anyone who was bitten by a
serpent and would look on it.  Number 21:9

The tear in the suit below the chest - This
represents the spear cut that Jesus recieve while on
the cross, dying for our sins and for our future
healings
.

Coverage from head to toe - This represents that
we have complete coverage through the covenant
with Jesus.

Dear Lord,

I pray your Holy Spirit prepares hearts to receive
you as their Lord and Savior, so they can have an
intimate and personal relationship with you.
Thank you God, that you answer prayer. In Jesus'
holy name I pray. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer to make
Jesus the Lord of your life and believe He
is your Savior, I urge you to call another
Christian friend or contact your local
church for further instruction on how to
walk out the decision you have made today. Being connected to a local church is vital for your
growth as a Christ-follower. If you don't know a Christian or you don't have a home church, then
please go to the "Home Church" tab at the top of this page. Double click on the picture of the
Church and get more information. There is also contact information for the church listed on that
page. Don't be alone in your quest for truth and relationship with Christ.  We are family, joined by a
divine God who loves you. We want to be apart of your journey. You never have to be alone again.
Reading the bible is also very important. It is one of the main ways we are able to get to know God
and his desires. Don't allow the enemy to steal what God has given you. Protect your heart. The
bible says in Proverbs 4:23 to guard your heart because it effects everything you do. Continue to
pray and read the Word of God.  It will be the best tool or weapon you will ever own. Learn to use it
with skill.  "Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good
worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15 God Bless you!
Having other people
in your life to speak
encouragement to
you and to life you
up in pray is very
important. The bible
instructs us to pray
for one another, so
never be afraid to
ask for prayer when
you are going
through a struggle
or a tough situation.
God wants to help
you and strengthen
you in all things.

I recently attended a charity ball at the
conservatory with my friends.  We were humbled
to be a part of this amazing night.

In the picture with me to the left is Scong Yeng.
She is an incredible woman and very talented.
My friend Faith is with me in the picture below.
I was not the most eloquent guest, but I really
enjoyed myself. I even got to play the Cello.

I am very blessed to have such awesome friends
in my life. We always have fun when we get
together.
Drop me a couple of lines.  I'll
check the mail box and write
you a note back.
People who have been encouraging, helpful, honest, loving, kind, generous and inspiring to
me. You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers.  I praise God on your behalf.
Thank you for being there for me.  Even more importantly, thank you for listening to God on

goal oriented in this mission.
Because of Christ in you, I have gotten this far.
