I am productive with what time I am giving to
my bosses and my church.  I like to have them
know that I am dependable and that I keep my
word. They always show me a great deal of
trust and respect, I can't imagine life without
that. I also love to research things.  It is one of
my favorite parts of my job.
Hello!  My Name is Leigh Foster.  I'm originally from
London, England.  I moved to the USA when I was a
teenager.  Both my father and mother are barristers in
England.  That means "lawyers" over there.
After I graduated high school, I attended
Boston University in Massachusetts. When
I completed my degree, I went on to grad
school at North Carolina State University
where I graduated with honors and
received a masters degree in business law.
My parents are proud of me.  We don't
get to see each other very much, so I have
a lot of extended family through my
church.
I have found that my success comes
from my relationship with Jesus Christ.
First, I gave Him my heart. Then I decided
to follow all of the principles in the Bible
and planted myself in a church.
To me, being connected to a local church
and to people that provide life-giving
relationships, helps me grow in every area of
my life. I have been so blessed to have great
mates (that means "friends" where I come
from) that love God. They are such and
encouragement to me and build me up when
times get hard. Through knowing God's word
and godly friendships, success is inevitable.
Another aspect of success for me is being able
to serve others. Being in a local church and
learning from my great pastors and teachers
allows me to know more about God's heart.
The Bible says in John 3:16 that Jesus came to
save the lost and that he does not desire that
anyone should perish. It is God's desire that we
reach out to the lost and hurting. Showing
God's love to others is why I like to volunteer
and help with events in my community.
"For God so loved the
world that he gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting
life."

John 3:16
The poor are shunned even
by their neighbors, but the
rich have many friends.

Proverbs 14:19-20
God, church, family, friends and work are
all choices to me that I take very
seriously.  Life is not always easy.  I find
that living by God's principles and
keeping great company makes a perfect
recipe for living.  Life is so exciting.  It is
not about drama or negative things. It is
about growing, giving, building and
serving. These are things that my church
holds dear and so do I. It is  easy to
concentrate on negative things, be
opinionated, or find fault in others.
Christ teaches us to encourage others and
to build each other up. Staying full of His
love and His Word allows us to do just
that!
I enjoy encouraging others. Sometimes I will
write a note card for someone, or I will give an
anonymous gift with a special message. The
Bible says in Ephesians 4:29 to build each other
up and be careful of what we say. While
encouragement is about speaking kind words to
each other, it is also about listening. Over time,
I have become a VERY good listener. Sometimes
a person just needs a friendly smile or a hug. I
pray that God will give me a heart of
compassion for people and I always strive to be
better at encouraging the people around me.
I work for a prestigious law firm that
may make me partner one day.I work
hard and though it is never glamorous
and I may put in more hours than I
would like, I know it will all pay off in
the end. In Proverbs 13:4 it says that
the soul of the diligent worker will be
made rich. It is important to me that I
strive for excellence in everything I do
and that I am honest at all times.
When I am off, I like to make a hot cup of
tea, put on my bunny slippers and read the
Bible. I like to really study it and if I have a
question I usually talk to a godly teacher. It
makes learning God's Word and applying it
to my life even more exciting.

I also like go horseback riding with my
friends, and go to competitions. It is a lot of
fun to go through the obstacles and try more
difficult courses. When I master the
obstacles, it is quite satisfying.

The cool thing is this same principle applies
to our life with God. There are many times
when we go through difficult situations. The
more we read God's word and pray for God
to be our strength in these times, we actually
have more success in overcoming the trial.
It Is important to me to have a variety of friends.
They all have different personalities that make
them unique. The coolest part is that their
personalities enable me to learn more about God.
Genesis 1:26 says that God made each of us in His
image. We reflect God...how fabulous is that?! It
is for this reason that I enjoy my friends even
more. I love to see how God uses them and works
through them.

Because I am also made in God's image, I do my
best to remember that God is pure and He desires
the same of me. I am careful of how I act around
my guy friends and of how I dress. I make sure
that I dress modestly, that means that I do not
wear low-cut shirts or jeans. Knowing that I am
made in His image, makes me secure and
confident in who I am. I know that no one can
fulfill that in me other than God. It allows me to
walk in the freedom God wants us to walk in
everyday.
Among my many blessings are some fabulous Christian girlfriends.  With me in the photo
below is Sharla Dalley.  She is such a sweetheart.  She loves the Lord so much and has been
an inspiration to me since I first started living in the area.  She is like a sister to me.  When
things just are not like they are suppose to be, she speaks to me with love and things seem
to be okay. We have had a lot of the same experiences in life. God is so good to give us
such friends and family for eternity!
Not long ago, we went to a
charity event at the
conservatory.  Our team was
asked to attend as ambassadors
on behalf of our Christian
faith. We were all thrilled to
be a part of the event.  We
had such a good time, and
everyone looked fabulous.
My team is such an awesome
group of people and I am glad
that we are all bonded and
committed to each other in
friendship. I could not have
chosen a better group to work
with. God is so good!
Jamal Abby is next to me in this picture.---->
He owns a hotel in the United States and is
from Africa.  He has been a good friend of
mine for quite a while. He is a gentle and soft
spoken man, but he has a beautiful bold
authority when it comes to the Word of God.
He is very articulate and knows many
languages.  Sometimes he can speak to people
about God, even if he does not know their
native language. It is quite a gift. You would
have to see it for yourself to understand how
amazing it is.  He is a very kind  person.
<--- In this photo, is Jesse Taylor and me.  He is a
slightly older and has been in the military for a few
years.  I am glad that he is stationed nearby.  He has
literally been everywhere, and served mostly on U.S.
Naval ships.  Jesse is a very wise man.  He is a natural
leader and God uses him to keep the team together.
He seems so serious most of the time, but I have
seen him laugh from time to time. Although, I feel
safe and secure with all my friends, Jesse's wisdom
always makes me feel like I am doing the right thing
before God.
My good friend and team mate, Matthew
Rubinstien is with me in the picture to the
right.  He is a young, Jewish doctor. He is
from upstate New York and moved south to
work in a special emergency unit in our area.
He is a very humble man.  Matthew is very
obedient to God.  He prays all the time and
with a firm assurance of the Holy Spirit.  He
knows scripture well and loves to read.  He
enjoys golf and spends as much time on a
golf course as he is allowed.
<--- Daniel Highcloud is in this
picture with me. He is a brave
woodsman, a ranger by occupation
and loves the outdoors Native style.
He rides his horses bareback most of
the time, and he has a wolf type of
dog.  Daniel is Native American and
came to this area from New Mexico.
He is a college graduate with a major
in forestry.  He has a very peaceful and
warm personality.  Daniel is very
discerning about the characters,
natures and spirits of people.  He has a
very keen awareness.  He is a very
precious brother in the Lord.  .
God loved me so much that He sent His only
son, Jesus to save me from being separated
from our Heavenly Father.  His act of
sacrifice for me is all it took for me to realize
how much He loved me.  When I pray to
God, something special happens.  The Holy
Spirit ignites my faith and a great strength is
present.  God gives me the ability to believe
beyond the boundaries of my normal
everyday beliefs.  He lifts me up and carries
me through situations that are difficult for
me by myself. My faith becomes great and I
know His glory becomes evident to the world
through me.

In Matthew chapter 14, Jesus sent the people home that He had been teaching. He also
told His disciples to go ahead of Him on the boat because He was going to go have some
prayer time before He joined them. As they were on the boat a quite scary storm came
along. Meanwhile, Jesus had come from the mountain side after He finished praying and
saw that they were a great distance from Him. Jesus went out to them in the middle of the
storm.
That is like us when things around us get hard and we become afraid of how they
look.  But Jesus sees us and He comes to us in the situation.

When the disciples saw Jesus coming on the water in the storm, they thought he was a
ghost.  That scared them even MORE!  Jesus told them it was Him and not to be afraid.
When Peter recognised that it WAS Jesus, he asked if he could come out of the boat and
onto the water with Jesus.  Jesus said "COME".  And Peter DID.  He was out walking on
the water with Jesus!!!
There are times that we see the Lord in our lives and we get
excited and we just want to be with Him.

Then Peter looked around, and he saw the big waves and nasty storm. He began to sink.
Peter cried out, "Lord, save me" and of course Jesus pulled him up and asked Peter, "You
of little faith, why did you doubt?"
Sometimes this happens to us. We know we are with
God and our hearts are right, but then we look around us in the world and we become
scared.

We have to remember 3 important things when we are in a storm or crisis in our life.

1.  God will show up!
2.  YOUR FAITH will hold you up!
3.   Don't look down!  That means that even if you feel comfortable with where you are
with HIM in the crisis, don't go looking at the problem and become afraid all over again!
Keep remembering to FOCUS ON JESUS!

KEEP
YOUR FAITH AND YOUR FOCUS ON GOD.  HE WILL HOLD YOU UP!

Disclaimers:
When you pray, you will not dawn a superhero costume.  And you can't fly with out the aid of a plane or glider.
